Hi,
I am new to Openenergymonitor. I have read through this website and forums for some hours and cannot figure yet how best to connect my emonBase to the Internet to log data on emonCMS. Does emonBase support wifi connexion to a wifi router? I have a Huawei 3G wifi router and using wifi would be my preferred route. In case wifi is not possible, would I have to link the Ethernet port of the Raspberry up to an Ethernet router? If yes, can you please advise on a low cost Ethernet to GPRS or EDGE or 3G router?
Thanks.

Re: How to connect emonBase (Rapsberry with RFM12Pi) to Internet
The easiest way is to connect to your router with an Ethernet jumper cable. Does your router not also have an Ethernet port?
If not, you can go down the WiFi path - see http://openenergymonitor.org/emon/node/3887#comment-18624
Re: How to connect emonBase (Rapsberry with RFM12Pi) to Internet
It really depends on what you are using as your emonBase (or base station)
If you are planning on using the NanodeRF you will see it contains an ethernet port which is the easiest way of linking it up.
If you want to use wifi, you are probably better using a raspberry pi and a RFM12Pi cards and buying a wifi usb dongle for the Raspberry Pi.
