problems when using multigraph

Hi

I am facing problems when using multigraph, both on Emoncms.org and on my local server (V7).

Sometimes, I get a blank graph when loading a dashboard containing a multigraph. Sometines, some feeds are missing.

To get the multigraph works fine, I have to reload the page or to click on the D (or W or Y) buttons several times.

Most of the time, I lost the feeds when using the +/- (or  </>) buttons) or when zooming in (focus with a window).

My browser is Mozilla Firefox Ubuntu 26.0.

Re: problems when using multigraph

Try this Eric,

  • Go to Vis and load up the multigraph that you have used in the dashboard.
  • In the multigraph preview on the right hand side, select the default view that you want to see in the dashboard. For example click 'D'
  • Save the Multigraph.

Now every time you open the dashboard you should see 1 day's worth of data by default.

In respect of the disappearing feeds, could it be that you are zooming in too far? You will need at least 2 feed datapoints on screen for a line to be drawn, and if your feeds update less frequently, or you have missing datapoints, it's easy to zoom in and have just one datapoint in view - and therefore there would be no feed evident in the graph.

Re: problems when using multigraph

I am seeing a similar phenomenon with my graphs as well.  They do not load with data and I need to hit D W etc. to display data.  This is something that has started just recently.  I even see this on some of my raw data graphs on my dashboards.

David, have you tried the above?

Re: problems when using multigraph

Hi Paul,

I created my multigraphs exactly how you told me to do it but it doesn't change anything. Sometimes I get a blank graph. Sometimes, one or several feeds are missing. To reproduce that bug, you can access to my main dashboard and reload that pages 10 times.

When I zoom in, I don't go too far. (2hours=120 data). Sometimes it works but some others times, I got a blank graph.

These two bugs must be related neither to my emoncms account nor to the way I created my multigraphs because I also got them when accessing public dashboard that belong to others emoncms.org users. Not sure, but It seems to be pretty new.

Eric

EDIT : I do not select the option "published" for my dashboard. What does this option mean for a dashboard ?

Re: problems when using multigraph

Take a look at the Dashboard Configuration part of this page of the Emoncms guide for what published means

http://emoncms.org/site/docs/dashboards

Can you also see if you have the same issue in a different web browser such as Chrome.

Re: problems when using multigraph

Paul,

I did try the suggestion above, but it did not resolve the issue.  I did forget to mention that I am using Chrome as my web browser.  Everything was working perfectly until just recently.

I've attached a screenshot of one of my dashboards.  The top graph is a raw data graph and the bottom is a reat time graph.  If I click one of the buttons on the graph, the data will show up.   The dials update just fine.

Same observation on my side. It is a pretty new wrong behaviour.

This may be associated with the emoncms.org timestore problem in discussion here: http://openenergymonitor.org/emon/node/3731
