Hardware RTC on Pi With HDD running Emoncms

H i 

I wondered if anyone has experience of using an RTC board on a Pi with HDD running emoncms to make a home control system completely independent of the internet for time control?

I have a Pi RTC from AB Electronics

on which I hope I can piggy back the RFM12Pi module without interference? ( I believe the RTC uses GPIO 0 & 1 and RFM12Pi uses GPIO 14 & 15)

Which files in emoncms would I have to change to make it use local RTC rather than the internet?

Packet gen now working!
