Setting up a 150 kW solar system, can I use emonTx?

Hello,

I am currently planing on building out a 150 kW solar farm in Japan. I am working with a local vendor on sourcing all product , equipment and labor, but would like consider the emontx as an option for monitoring.  I'm not an electrical engineer, thus would like to defer to the experts here on whether or not emontx would work.

What specific questions do I need to ask my contractor in terms of setup for this size of a system?

Since I am building a 150 kW system, should I plan on setting up multiple emontx devices, as each CT sensor is 23 kW max? If so, is it possible to bulk the monitoring levels together in aggregate for visualization?

Any other advice from others that have built out systems in similar size?

many thanks in advance

Apologies if this was not clear above, but all my questions relate to the building out the monitoring system - not the solar energy system in general.  Thank you

Yes this is possible with emon system, however if you are investing that amount into solar, I would expect the inverter suppliers (SMA etc.) would provide an industrial system suitable for your needs.

If you do want to go down the emon route, then you will likely be monitoring each "string" of solar PV equipment once it has been converted into AC for feeding into the grid - will this also be on multiple phases ?

"as each CT sensor is 23 kW max?" That is only true of the standard shop c.t. You don't have to use that, you can use any other appropriately rated c.t. The software limit (if you send power in watts which is the default) is 32767 W. There's no reason, given that size of installation, to use watts as the base unit, you could use "decawatts" or "hectowatts" for example (1 HW = 10 DW = 100 W) and appropriately change it for display and logging.

I need a full line diagram to give you any detailed advice.
