Hi Guys,
Just a question, I have a solar collector installed and already piped to my hot water cylinder, how do I go about adding sensors to this. The cylinder only has 1 thermostat pocket and there are not pockets on the solar collector,
I want to monitor the top and bottom temp's of the cylinder and the temp at the top of the solar collector. Can I simply strap the sensors to the pipes as close as possible to the cylinder and collector and then insulate them from external influence ?
Thanks
Re: Tempreture Sensor installation for cylinder and collector
Yep. that's what i did.
I used the encapsulated ones on the panels outside, fitted at hot water pipe exit using ty-wraps un the insulation. Remember temperature can get upto 90deg C.
On the tank i made my own leads using the DS1820 device and cut 2 sections of foam away and slipped it next to the copper.
