Hi,
We developed a Pachube (pachube.com) compatible energy monitor using Arduino and an Energy Meter Shield from Olimex Chile (http://www.olimex.cl/product_info.php?cPath=76_78&products_id=797) and a Ethernet Shield (http://www.olimex.cl/product_info.php?cPath=76_78&products_id=600)
This meter reads instant voltage, current and power. Also measures the accumulated energy consumption in kWh. With the energy meter shield you can upload your energy consumption data to the web so you be able to analize it and change usage habits, all this at low cost and using Arduino!!
Instructions and source code is available in our website.
Check a screenshot of the Energy Meter monitoring data

If you have any question about our project contact us at www.olimex.cl
bye!
Re: Energy Meter Shield + Pachube online monitoring
Is this an open source project?
Re: Energy Meter Shield + Pachube online monitoring
Not sure, but there are schematics of the shield on the site:

Re: Energy Meter Shield + Pachube online monitoring
Aaaaah it's got some of these analog devices chips, I have some samples of the single and tri-phase monitoring chips and I should probably try them some time soon (ADE7753, ADE7758).
Maybe they can be used to monitor 3 voltages by sensing only one.
But it seems like there is a lot of noise on the voltage sensing graph on Pachube.
Re: Energy Meter Shield + Pachube online monitoring
I contacted the technical support of analog devices (they make these IC's) and now waiting for their reply on wether we can use one sensor to monitor 3 phases or not
Re: Energy Meter Shield + Pachube online monitoring
Cool, will be interested to hear.
Re: Energy Meter Shield + Pachube online monitoring
Hi,
Soon we are uploading the source code for Arduino in our website
www.olimex.cl
Re: Energy Meter Shield + Pachube online monitoring
Hi,
For 3 phase monitoring, you can use the ADE7878
Re: Energy Meter Shield + Pachube online monitoring
Hey,
Thanks for the tip, I am familiar with their range of ICs, but we would like to do is a little bit special: we'd like to monitor 3 voltage phases with one sensor on one phase only.
Any ideas?
