I now have optical pulse counters on both my grid and solar generation meters. Just wanting to produce both a running total and a daily figure I was looking to simplify the processing and "Wh increments to kWh/d" sounded just the thing for a pulse counter but it will not do what I want and I can't find further docs.
I have tried with and without a "Wh accumulator" step before the process but in both cases I just get a huge incrementing figure.
Hints? What am I doing wrong?
Re: "Wh increments to kWh/d" doesn't ?
Hello Peter, what are you using to count the pulses, the best approach is for the device to accumulate the pulses as is done on the emontx, emonth and emonpi and for that then to send the cumulative pulse count to emoncms where you then use the wh_accumulator to remove any resets that occur from power cycling the nodes.
You can then use the resultant wh_accumulator feed with the emoncms bargraph visualisation with delta set to 1 as described here: https://openenergymonitor.org/emon/node/12308
Re: "Wh increments to kWh/d" doesn't ?
Right, that's what I am doing (the first part) for the grid meter but rather than visualisation I just want the daily reading in a feed for doing stuff with "later". The Wh increments to kWh/d sounds from the name like exactly the thing, but doesn't work (for me). If it is generally not working should it even be listed? Same goes for subsequent playing with the "pulse -> Total pulse count to pulse increment" process - which just appears to pass the input to the output in my set-up.
Am confused, sorry.
Re: "Wh increments to kWh/d" doesn't ?
I should note I get the right result if I do:
I was just hoping to skip some steps... and maybe smooth some of the jumps in the 4th step above, which is probably impossible given the resolution of the pulses.
