Cannot send data while viewing on same network

I have been searching the forums but cannot find an answer to a problem I am having.

I am unable to send data to EmonCMS while logged in and viewing data in Inputs.

EmonCMS is running on a shared hosting server (GoDaddy), and I am sending data using an Arduino.  If I try to log into my EmonCMS installation, data will not update while I am on the same network.  If I view my inputs from my mobile over 3G, the Arduino is able to update data OK.  If logged in using the same network as my Arduino, and data is not updating, when I log out, the Arduino updates very shortly afterwards.

Have I missed a permission flag during setup, only allowing one connection to server per IP?

Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.  I hope my issue is clearly described.

Many Thanks,

Steven

Re: Cannot send data while viewing on same network

Hi Steven,

I have the same problem using a VPS, but so far no one has been able to assist:

Any chance you are using a Mac?

Thanks

Re: Cannot send data while viewing on same network

Hello,

Yes, I am using a Mac.  I had used Chrome on my Android phone to view, but had always turned WiFi off to ensure I was not on the same network.  So I will check if the Arduino still updates while on the same network.  Will also get an old Windows PC fired up and see if I see the same behaviour as you.

At least I know I am not the only one!

Thanks,

Steven

Yeap - Chrome on Android on the same network is fine.  Looks like it is the same, only an issue when logged in on Mac.

Re: Cannot send data while viewing on same network

In my case, I have a VPS with one hosting provider and a shared server with another provider. If I log in with the Mac on the VPS, the values stop updating; with a Windows laptop, it works fine.

Whereas on the shared server, both Mac and Windows work fine.

I had the issue down to the http server, but perhaps someone who knows better can shed some light here.
