Hello!
Has anyone tried running emonTx by setting the atmega clock prescaler so that the microcontroller runs at 4 MHz? I am trying to reduce the current consumption (to increase battery life) and could do some basic tests already. I set the ADC clock prescaler to 16 (from the default 128) and then the measurements (VI calculation) seemed to work correctly.
Cheers

Re: emonTX at 4 Mhz
Will the RFM12b work at 4Mhz?
Re: emonTX at 4 Mhz
Hi all,
Just an update on my experiments. The emontx and power measurement algorithm plus rfm12b transmisson does work at 4 MHz. But, as expected, there is deterioration in the number of samples per wavelength and hence the accuracy is affected. I have a set of detailed measurements and statistics as part of an academic project - if anyone is interested, I would be glad to share. However, I was unable to get the RFM12 B working when the arduino was prescaled down to 2 MHz.
Cheers
