Hi All,
I'm having "problems" connecting the emonBase to the internet, at the moment I have a RJ45 cable from emonBase going to my switch which in turn connects to my ADSL modem, no lights are on on either the switch NIC or emonBase NIC, does it work like a normal NIC, IE the lights will be on showing that the connection is good? What kind of RJ45 cable do you need, straight through or swapped pins 3 and 4. Do you need DHCP switched on? How do you see that the emonBase is connected to the internet? When I plug the emonBase directly into the ADSL modem, the red LED on the emonBase lights up and then switches off and I don't see any other activity after that. I also have a Base fail message on the emonGLCD, no idea what that means?
Thanks for responding :-)

Anyone? Please!
Re: Connecting emonBase to internet
On the EmonBase underneath the network cable a green light on the connector should be on constant and a yellow should be flashing when data is send.
Did you check the network cable by connecting a different device on it? (like a laptop)
When connecting from EmonBase to a switch/mode a straight network cable should work.
Re: Connecting emonBase to internet
Hi Drsdre,
Any suggestion on what to check if the green LED does not light up? Its not the cable as the cable works with my desktop, I just loaded the NanodeRF_Power_RTCrelay_GLCDtemp.ino sketch, do I need to load something else to get the Ethernet to work?
Thanks
Re: Connecting emonBase to internet
My problem was the faulty batch of VRs, green LED is now active on the NIC and IP address was acquired
