I have a RFM12Pi fitted to the Pi and am going through the setup where its asking for the frequency which I know as I purchased a 868 Mhz option. Its also asking for the group and baseid which I do not know. how can I find out what these are?

The default values should be fine, though you're at liberty to change them if you wish.
We use 210 as the default group. All stations must be in the same group.
We use 15 as the default Base node.
But do you want the Base Node ID? You might actually want the Node ID of your emonTx! The default for that is 10.
Your GLCD node ID is probably 20.
