I'm a newbie and I want to try this tutorial :
http://openenergymonitor.org/emon/buildingblocks/how-to-build-an-arduino...
So I must buy these component and connect them to Arduino Uno :
AC-AC Power Supply Adapter 9v (euro adapter)
100A max clip-on current sensor CT
But before I spend my money I want understand how can I connect these two component with Arduino.
I see for example that current sensor has a 3,5 mm jack for emonTx connection (http://shop.openenergymonitor.com/100a-max-clip-on-current-sensor-ct/), but If I want to connect it on Arduino breadboard I need to cut cable of CT sensor and split inner cables ? Same thing for the AC adapter ?
Is possible to buy these components already prepared for Arduino ?
Thank you
Re: Arduino energy monitor how connect CT sensor and AC Adapter ??
The ac-ac adapter and the CT are manufactured with the plugs fitted. You can either buy suitable sockets (like those on the emonTx) to suit those plugs, then use ordinary single-core wire to connect the socket to your Arduino, or you can cut off the plugs and make the connection directly.
Re: Arduino energy monitor how connect CT sensor and AC Adapter ??
thank you.
Could someone give me information about resistor wattage for the Arduino energy monitor circuit ?
1/4 W is enough ?
Re: Arduino energy monitor how connect CT sensor and AC Adapter ??
Yes, but you really need to learn how to calculate that for yourself. There are plenty of tutorials on the web to help you.

thank you, I'm a newbie and for now I want to follow energy monitor tutorial exactly, hoping that all works.
