Hi again,
As the subject says, is there an idiots guide to setting up emoncms?
I have a data-feed coming in from my Current Cost Envi and i can view 1 hours worth in real-time or look at the static visualisation of all the stored data. The feeds I have defined are currently just logging and averaging at 2 min intervals. I would like to setup a dashboard where I can view the data and drill down in to the data to see what hours of the day the power is being used, etc.
I have been and read some of this document:
http://emoncms.org/site/docs/inputsandfeeds
but I was looking for more of an "If you want to do this..." type experiance. :)
Any help gratefully received.
Thanks,
David
Re: emoncms idiots guide?
Input processing is a huge topic and is discussed in great detail throughout the forum. Everyone wants something a little different and the available processes also evolve, so documentation is thinner than it could be.
I'm of the opinion the fastest way to learn is to experiment and make some mistakes, working out why you didn't get the result you wanted will teach you far more than reading a guide.
The forums search facility is very useful once you pick up a few key words to focus your searches and you can always ask questions, many of us are only to happy to help if we can.

Re: emoncms idiots guide?
Hi Paul,
While I can't disagree with your statements, sometimes an example is worth a lot.
I am now making some progress and I think the main thing is having more data to play with. When you only have a few hours of power data to play with you can't do a lot with many of the visualizations. :)
On to dashboards next...
Thanks,
David
