I guys, i'm a newbie about electronics and Raspberry and I like the emonTx V3 project. I need to know if it's possible to connect emonTx V3 to a standard pc using a usb dongle. I already have a low power fedora server and i want to use it.
Many thanks in advance
Re: connecting a emonTx V3 to a standard pc
You can use the programmer from the shop to make a wired connection to your pc's USB port. The emonTx radio uses neither the same frequency nor protocol as WiFi so a WiFi USB dongle won't work.
If you have a serial port on your server, you might be able to make a wired connection to that, similar to the direct wired connection to the Raspberry Pi.
