I've just acquired emontx, emonglcd & emonbase (nanodeRF) & I've managed to get everything up & running except emoncms & the nanodeRF.
I'm using CT123 with AC-AC mains adapter to measure real & apparent power using the sketch provided by this website. This outputs to the GLCD quite well.
Alongside this, I'm still using my previous measuring system which uses 3 CT's on the 3 inputs of a Current Cost ENVIR & collecting the data using Techtoniq Energy Station 2.
This produces minute by minute data in csv format that can be imported into a spreadsheet for further processing but the shortcoming of this software is that its 3 CT inputs all add up (designed for 3 phase?) & I have to manipulate the results to give me the relevant PV, imported/exported power figures etc.
I would rather use the emoncms with the graphing facility but don't know how to start. Every posting I've read seems to be full of server jargon which I'm not familiar with
I understand a server is needed to use emoncms.
Can I use a Win7 x64 computer to act as a server? If so, can anyone provide step by step details of how to do this as I haven't a clue.
I've looked at pachube but I don't think their graphing facility is as good as I've seen on emoncms.
Please bear in mind that I've never used a server apart from Windows Home Server v1 & will be an OAP this year so be gentle with me!
Re: emoncms
Any webserver with php5 will do.
For a start you can use openenegymonitor's demo page to post to.
