20A Magnetic Latching Relays (Whole house power switch)?

All,

Does anybody have any good magnetic relays that can handle 20Amps and be controlled with 12-24V?  I've done some searching for industrial controls, but nothing has turned up.  I want to run various circuits through these and then have a microcontroller turn them on/off to kill the vampire loads that run all day.

I want something similar to what they have in Hotels where you insert your key to turn on the room.  I want to do this for my house so when I leave I can put the house to sleep (minus the critical circuits like A/C, Refrigeration, microcontroller :)

Thanks,
Brad

Try searching for "remanent relay". There are a lot here: http://www.releco-relays.net/en/data-sheets-relays-series-irc-mrc-qrc.html but I've not looked at coil voltage/power, contact ratings etc.

http://www.Schneider-electric.com (US)

https://www.clipsal.com (AU)

Remotely Operated ecB-g3 circuit Breakers (120-240V, 15,20,&30 Amp)

Catalog Number
ECB14015G3*

ECB14020G3*

ECB14030G3

What I found: Schneider bought Clipsal which developed C-BUS home automation (Australia) and Schneider had PowerLink G3 lighting control, which is now BACNet compatible (http://www.bacnet.org (Building Automation Control Standard))

All made for industrial use and may be too expensive for residential operations, but my TED tells me I'm spending about $1/night in vampire loads.  If those could be shut down throughout they day, that is ~$500/yr.

(Update): Pricing sheet puts this outside of the residential reach

Well, it looks like Belkin and Quirky have just the products to solve my issue:

Hi

I use 16amp Schrack relays. Any good? RT314A12 about £4 in UK from RS Components. Easily driven with an L2930D.

Ian
