Hi again folks, my self-hosted server has been running fine for a couple of months now on virtual machines.
MySQL is running on one machine.
EmonCMS is(was) running on a separate Ubuntu server machine.
I'm still running version EmonCMS v7.
My EmonCMS server developed networking issues after applying Heartbleed patches (Solaris host, virtualization nightmare!).
I configured a clone of the EmonCMS server and everything is(was) running fine. To ensure my dashboards were migrated to the new emon server, I copied the entire emoncms directory (/var/www/emoncms) from the old machine to the new machine. Now the issue I am having is that for some reason all my inputs and feeds are no longer accessible from this new instance. My inputs from the node(s) are creating new inputs but not using the existing inputs. MySql clearly shows the old inputs still there with new inputs being created with different ID's. My dashboards and other menu items are showing up but not "connecting" to the old feeds.
Any ideas ???
Re: Problem migrating self-hosted server ?
Did you have any luck with this? it may be a redis issue if your using redis? Might be worth trying a $ redis-cli then flushall..
Re: Problem migrating self-hosted server ?
Hi Trystan, no success on this issue. I did manage to "revive" my broken server.
Yes, I'm using redis. I will try migrating system(s) systems again just because it's nice to have a procedure for migrations.
Thanks. I'll post my adventures.
