After the many small changes and additions during the last days Emoncms V8.0.6 is running very nicely for me on Windows Home Server. Thank you very much, Trystan!
I am using Firefox (28.0) as default browser and there are two little issues with this browser:
Everywhere where a colour can be chosen (e.g. for the multigraph line colour), only a hash sign # appears. If this is clicked, the text (the hash sign) can be edited and a colour value has to be entered numerically. In Chrome a vertical colour 'bar' appears and if it is clicked, a 'rainbow' colour selection window opens instead. This is much nicer :-)
( in Chrome the colour 'bar' is always black the first time although the line is shown in a different colour in the graph, but this is only a cosmetic problem)
The next issue is the missing feed engines in the dropdown list when choosing a feed engine. All items below the 'other' headline are not shown in Firefox (same in Chrome. Is this because there are no 'other' engines available?)
Another point that is only cosmetic again (?), is that in Firefox a lot of errors are shown in the console window. Most (or all) do not seem to be fatal, but it is a bit strange that there are so many at all.
I am afraid I can not help with clearing these issues, I just try to document them.
BR, Jörg.
Re: EmonCMS V8 Firefox (not only) related issues
I'm going to jump on this because I have a related question / issue.
I do get the colour picker on Chrome, but I've never successfully been able to use it - it seems to cause the page to hang, half the values in the multigraph sometimes disappear before I hit save, etc.
To help me debug this, can anyone else running v8 on a Pi confirm that picking colours through the GUI pop-up in Chrome works for them?
Re: EmonCMS V8 Firefox (not only) related issues
For me it also works very erratically. It mostly (?) works If I select one of the predefined colours. After that it also seems to work with a picked colour from the 'rainbow' !?!
(Chrome on Windows)
EDIT: But this seems to be an issue of this colour selection 'window'. You first have to select one of the predefined colours and then you can pick one from the rainbow.
Re: EmonCMS V8 Firefox (not only) related issues
When 'adding' a new feed to a multigraph, the linecolour is not 'taken over' into the feedlist (line 184 in multigraph_edit.js). On redraw of the multigraph_feedlist_editor the linecolour is empty then and a black bar is drawn, the linecolour property is still empty.
Is this the problem?
OK, I see. The feed does not have a 'linecolour' property. But from where comes the line colour in the legend of the multigraph? If you add feeds, every feed seems to get a 'default'(?) line colour in the legend of the plot window. Would be nice to have the same colour 'copied' into the 'line colour' edit field on the left.

As I am still struggling with this also:
Can someone confirm that the colours in multigraph definition including colour picker is working for him in V8.x?
