Hello,
I was wondering if someone can guide me how to test my emonTx Shield that i assembled myself (first project)
currently when i run the Arduino sketch i get the following output with nothing plugged to the shield
emonTX Shield CT123 example
OpenEnergyMonitor.org
Node: 10 Freq: 433Mhz Network: 210
8079 10491 8478 0
695 47 591 0
447 41 373 0
293 40 247 0
192 39 162 0
275 38 234 0
98 40 88 0
32 40 31 0
28 40 38 0
10 38 22 0
10 39 12 0
22 40 16 0
23 40 20 0
33 40 19 0
31 40 26 0
26 38 25 0
and this is the output when i have a sensor plugged to ct1
emonTX Shield CT123 example
OpenEnergyMonitor.org
Node: 10 Freq: 433Mhz Network: 210
8975 10492 9209 0
433 50 371 0
277 40 235 0
184 38 158 0
124 40 104 0
175 40 161 0
64 38 67 0
29 40 31 0
28 38 28 0
17 40 32 0
9 40 17 0
22 40 15 0
i not sure i understand if it assembled correctly the results look very similar.
what is the best way to test the board?
and when the shield is on the arduino do i need to plug the 9V battery to the shield as well?
Thanks in advance
Re: How do i test my emonTx Shield ?
The shield does not need a separate power supply. That sketch does not measure the line voltage so you do not need an ac adapter either.
Those numbers look reasonable for the apparent powers for inputs 1-3, but I would have expected a bit of noise (because that is where those values come from) for input 4.
What current was flowing through your c.t.? Did you clip the c.t. over a 2-core or 3-core cable? If you did, you will of course not read anything (see the installation instructions!).
