Updating IPE

I've just tried running sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade (after switching to r/w) and had a number of failures, and then after restarting I couldn't install any further packages.

How do you keep IPE up to date, mainly from a security perspective?

I gave up on IPE for that and few other reasons and moved to original Raspbian forced to R/O mode.

This will get you started:

 

blog.a-netz <dot> de/2013/02/read-only-root-filesystem/

or

raspberrycenter<dot> de/forum/umruestung-raspberry-pi-read-only-root-filesystem

it is in German, but understandable
