Hi,
I understood that in order to program the EmonBase or EmonTx, you need a 5V FTDI cable. I read that the EmonBase can also be programmed using an Arduino (see here), but is the same also true for the EmonTx?
And if I need to buy such a cable, what is a good price? The cheapest I found on Ebay is still around £10 or is this normal?
Thanks in advance for any clarification.
Re: FTDI cable
Yes the emonTx could be programmed using an another Arduino but it would be a bit of a faff. We sell and FTDI cable (this one) for £5. Using an FTDI cable is much more convenient than any other method. See here for details: http://openenergymonitor.org/emon/emontx/buy.
Re: FTDI cable
Thank you for the reply! I ordered one because I want a convenient solution :-)
