Hi All, I have just started working on an emon project for work and I would like to monitor a feed of up to 500A!
I have seen some CT sensors for sale, but the question is will they work with the emontx?
If anyone has any recommendations for a part, or even if this is too high an input for emontx I would be very grateful.
Many thanks
Dan
Re: 500A CT Sensor
I don't have a specific recommendation. Your c.t. will need to have a sufficiently large VA rating to be able to generate about 1 V rms across the burden resistor, if you are using the standard emonTx configuration that uses the 3.3 V supply as the analogue reference. If you change to using the internal 1.1 V reference, you should be able to use the much more common 0.333 V output c.t's, but your sketch will need changing from the examples here
Re: 500A CT Sensor
Not as simple as it initially looked then!
Thank you very much for the response and the advice, i'll do some more research before going into this one!
Thanks again for the feedback!
