Probably more something to post on an rpi forum but maybe someone has seen this before here.
My emonbase raspberrypi has been running for a couple of weeks. Then suddenly I could not get access to the emoncms hosted by the device. Pinging the rpi was ok but nothing would work from either http or ssh services.
I then flashed another sd card image and my rpi was up and running again as it used to be. However this one only lasted two days and I am in the same trouble again. Can ping but no ssh nor http.
If you have had the same problem I am interested to know what is wrong. Dodgy rpi maybe?
Re: raspberrypi can ping but no ssh or http
I had such symptoms once. I plugged a keyboard and a screen and saw logs indicating I don't remember which kind of bad trouble. I rebooted and it worked fine again. I blamed it on the SD card wearing off.
Re: raspberrypi can ping but no ssh or http
Reboot does not fix it for me.
I suspect the sd card to be the culprit too. I was using one of these cheap Hama card.
I saw a page on the emon website showing some test about sd card but I can't find it anymore. Would you have a particular card to recommend?

Down there: http://wiki.openenergymonitor.org/index.php?title=Raspberry_Pi#SD_Card_S...
Not many models. This page deserves more publicity.
Thumb rule : bigger is better, less rewrites on the same place. Bigger is also more expensive...
I use the Samsung SDHC Essential 32GO Class 10.

Is that the link you wanted?
Re: raspberrypi can ping but no ssh or http
spot on. yes that's the page I was looking for. The info with sd card testing should probably be a page on its own actually.

Right. What matters is how it is linked to from other pages.
Hmmm, Robert, I was refering to the link I added in the wiki. It was supposed to point to the constructor's page but it is broken : http://www.samsung.com/fr/consumer/it/memory-card/sd/MB-SSBGA/EU
Doesn't matter that much anyway.
