Re: problem with the display of the emonGLCD
Hello, are you sure soldering is all good on the faded lcd? could there be a dry joint?
Re: problem with the display of the emonGLCD
When you turn the contrast is perfect, however, and fades in a matter of a minute or two digits will disappear completely. I disconnect, I reconnect and repeat the process.
I have reviewed the welds and even checked voltage between pins of the display.
Re: problem with the display of the emonGLCD
This sounds like the old reversed capacitor problem - have you checked this in the build guide?
Re: problem with the display of the emonGLCD
Hi.
Thanks.
I have run through the voltages on the pins and they are all close to those link:
http://openenergymonitor.org/emon/node/333
I have placed the capacitors with the polarity as is the photo of the guide. Since it is newly purchased understand that this judgment is for versions prior to July 2013.
Could that be the problem, any way to check?
"PCB rev V1.4 (kits bought before June 2013) Important: Due to an error on PCB V1.4 C13 and C14 must be inserted the opposite way round to the marked polarity (short leg to +). Applies to PCB V1.3 and V1.4. - this has been fixed on V1.5 see above "
