Re: Both Pi images corrupted on site

That's probably the reason why they are corrupted.

You really need to unpack it in a linux environment with a program called dd.

It's quite easy to do, I downloaded a 'live' linux disk which I burnt to a DVD (but could use a USB drive), then booted my 'Windows Vista' laptop from the DVD, so in effect I'm running linux (debian). The dd program came as standard and works very well.
Then follow the instructions on the emoncms page to unpack it.

I don't think that you will have any success with Windows.

There seems to be another problem - I can successfully unzip using 7-zip (at least the Ubuntu One) but it ends up as 7.5Gb img file.... not unsurprisingly this will not copy onto a 4Gb SD card.

You should be able to use Win32diskimager to copy the img file to disk - no need for dd and live linux, see Raspberry PI forums

Sorry about the 7.5gb error, there will be an updated 4gb image hopefully tomorrow. The 7.5gb image did seem to upload to 4gb cards here though without any problems using dd. The 7.5gb image was created from a 4gb partition on a 8gb card.
