Re: Dead USB programmer
I have got a problem with my NanodeRF but I think it is the USB programmer. Seems to keep resetting the Arduino before it's finished programming.
Tried powering the EmonGLCD with it and that keeps resetting too.
Anybody had any issues with the USB programmers
Re: Dead USB programmer
Try with another USB cable.
Re: Dead USB programmer
Sorry we have had some manufacturing issues with the latest batch of programmers. We're taking this up with the factory. Please drop me an email if you think you have been effected
Very sorry about this,
All the best,
Re: Dead USB programmer
I've already ordered a new one. I'll see what happens with it.
Should note i have been leaving the Programmer connected for long periods to monitor the serial o/p of the nanodeRF.
Re: Dead USB programmer
Now i'm confused. New programmer arrived and it behaves the same.
So i've tried a different programmer, USB lead, reinstall FDTI driver, reinstall Arduino IDE, rebooted
But i'm still getting random errors when trying to upload.
BTW i'm using a MAC but it's been fine for months, i've uploaded loads of times before.
I get errors like these...
1. avrdude: stk500_recv(): programmer is not responding
2. processing.app.SerialException: Serial port '/dev/tty.SLAB_USBtoUART' already in use. Try quiting any programs that may be using it.
Sometimes it gets a fair way into uploading then bombs out.
Unfortunately i got it to work once today but with an old code version with my old API key.
Any ideas from MAC users
Re: Dead USB programmer
Is the LED constantly on? When I had problems with the USB-cable, it flickered on and off, depending on how I held the cable.
Re: Dead USB programmer
Fixed
It appears to be a software application I installed for my daughter called Activboard by Promethean Ltd, as requested by her school. It seems to grab the USB as a whiteboard and doesn't release it.
Anyway have a spare programmer now.
