I am new to this forum so I apologize in advance if this question has been asked before:
Goal: To monitor individual circuits at the fuse box to determine power consumption over time via the Internet or through my home network. I would like to monitor a minimum of six circuits.
I have basic understanding of electronics (retired licensed electrician) and have been playing with Arduino for about a month so have a basic understanding of Ardunio and programming.
What is the best approach that I should be looking at, a couple of emonTx Shields (which don't seem to be available) or go with the wireless approach using several emonTx , or there a third option?
Any help would be appreciated? If anyone has successfully already done this I would love a link or some info. Thanks in advance!
Re: Newbe needs recommendation for power monitoring
Something like this: http://openenergymonitor.org/emon/node/1170 ?
You will most probably not have 3 phases, so you can simplify the arrangement somewhat.
There was also this thread a while ago http://openenergymonitor.org/emon/node/619 but it's not clear whether the setup ever worked!
Re: Newbe needs recommendation for power monitoring
Thanks a bunch, that is exactly what I was looking for!
