eMon running on the Dragino platform?

Hi all!

To resolve connectivity problems (RJ45/WiFi) and have a fast CPU (180Mhz), maybe the Dragino platform is worth looking at?

Could this be the next-gen eMon Base?

Re: eMon running on the Dragino platform?

Yeah the Dragino, looks like a good platform. I am aware of it having met with Bart at an Elektro Camp in May this year.

Are Dragino's available to buy as a dev board? I wonder if someone has tried running emoncms on it? Looking at the specs I don't think the Atheros will be up to running an Apache web server.

We have a working emonBase setup on the Raspberry Pi using an RFM12B, I'm in the process of documenting it at the moment: http://wiki.openenergymonitor.org/index.php?title=Raspberry_Pi. The raspberry pi can run an emoncms server, logging the data locally as wall as posting to a remote emoncms server if required.

Thanks for the info,

Re: eMon running on the Dragino platform?

So with a eMon TX v2 and a Raspberry Pi with the "RFM12B to Raspberry Pi board" from http://harizanov.com/store/, I'm able to run a working eMon solution? Stil don't know which TX version I need.

I would like to use eMon for temperature logging around the house (around five or six DS18B20's). The extended version of http://openenergymonitor.blogspot.be/2012/04/engineers-thermometer.html

Also I hope the plug based monitoring will come soon, very interesting!

Later I would like to join readings from my Fluksometer v2 with the readings from the eMon CMS.

Yup that's it. We will have the RFM12Pi kit in the openenergymonitor shop in a couple of weeks. We have been working with Martin.

Take a look at Martin's Funky sensor, it's a really cool small little RFM12B based temperate node. I think martin is selling them in small numbers

Seeed studio has a dragino with an arduino daughter card.  They call it dragrove.  It also works as a wireless hub.

I am only planning to use it as a gateway to my zigbee or 802.15.4 nodes.  IoT thermostat being the first node.
