I just bought the EmonTX V3 and was planning on using it with my Vera HA controller with the RFXtrx433e module handling the communications. I have plugged in the EmonTX V3 and one clamp (without any load) and I can see the EmonTX V3 pulsing, but I am not getting any input on the RFXtrx433e.
So, can you confirm or deny that I can use it with the RFXtrx433e transceiver ?
Re: Can I use EmonTX V3 with the RFXtrx433e module ?
I cannot see the JeeLib protocol (which is what the emonTx uses) listed on the RFXtrx433e web page. You have two possible approaches: If you know one of the exact protocols of the message that the RFXtrx433e expects and can drive the RFM69CW in a way that produces a message obeying that protocol - or you can find a library that does that for you - then that will give you a solution.
The second possibility is to consider whether the RFXtrx433e can be configured to recognise and interpret the transmission from your emonTx - details of the exact message format are on the JeeLabs website.
If you cannot find an answer to one or the other of those, then I suspect the answer is no, you cannot use it.

Well, that puts a spanner in the works.
Thank you for the information. I have written an email to RFXCOM to ask if they would be able to support JeeLib, but otherwise I will have to go with the RPi.
