Hello!
So... I imagine that most (all?!) people involved with OEM are interested in the amount and cost of energy and it occurred to me that there doesn't appear to be a means to include a standing charge which I assume is levied by most energy firms.
I wondered if this is something that's worth considering, or whether people think it's invalid since it's not really linked to consumption...
Thanks, Josh
Re: Including a "standing charge" amount in the "My Electric" app cost
I think the difficulty there is the vast number of different ways a standing charge can be applied by various companies and tariffs etc.
Some pay a premium price for the first units, some a daily charge etc. it's on the cards for the android app to get multiple instances of MyElectric, this would enable a cost to be calculated and displayed independently of the energy consumption.
For example I log the peak and off-peak use separately so that I can apply the correct unit price for the time of day and to that I can add a daily standing charge every 24hrs using cron (or the schedule module?) , it's very accurate but currently not currently viable via the app only by the usual dashboard widgets and graphs.
