List of 'things' that have been measured with Open Energy Monitor?

Obviously lots of different people are measuring lots of different 'things' with official and unofficial OEM modules, but there doesn't appear to be a big list/directory somewhere where all these 'things' are listed.

We've all done the 'usual', electricity usage and house temperature, some have gone further to monitor the output of their solar PV systems and heat pumps. I monitor the power going to my electric car charger (seemed like a good idea & it's next to the grid meter and the PV meter).

Monitoring the hallway and landing temperature is pretty standard, then it's interesting to have the outside temperature too.

I also monitor the temperature inside my rain water harvesting tank - it freezes during very cold weather and destroys the pump.

Last week I was wondering what others were monitoring and today I came across a chap who has temperature sensors in the flow/return pipes of his gas boiler to monitor efficiency - so I've add that to the list.

But I was wonder what else I've missed that others are doing?

(Just list them - we can start separate threads to discuss them :)

You missed Glyn's beehive monitor.

heating oil tank level

rain water harvesting tank level

water flow

water meter

gas meter

server temperature, cpu and ram usage

wifi signal and quality

wind speed, wind direction, rain fall

soil moisture level

humidity (int and ext)

air quality

occupancy / movement

to name just a few off the top of my head...

PS if recall correctly I think it's Martin Harizanov who logs doorbell events and his childrens TV watching ! Recently another user was wanting to log the number of washing machine and dryer uses following an increase due to a new addition to his family.

Heatpumps too (http://openenergymonitor.blogspot.co.uk/2015/12/heat-pump-monitoring.html). I also know of a company that has used the system to measure the power consumption on-board train carriages.

In addition to the usual house monitoring, I have a (very) remote weather station running WeeWx on a Pi, sending data to Wunderground.   I use the Emoncms extension to Weewx just to keep an eye on the weather station's battery status, which Wunderground doesn't log.

New to the site- thank you for having me!

Mine probably seems on the face of it fairly conventional- a temp. monitor on my solar-heated water tank. The only difference from the norm being that, in order to see the temp. from a different room, I "hacked" a small wireless weatherstation (3€ from a bootsale!) by removing the sensor from the transmitter, extending it a couple of feet & popping it behind the insulation near the top of the tank. Somewhat less hi-tech than the Pi versions I see here, but 2 AAA batteries last about 2 - 3 years.:)

Wemo insight and smart maginon sp1 smart wall plugs (those are wifi on / off switches but can monitor energy use of appliances attached to it).

My phones battery level using combination of tasker + mqtt

my wireless sensor tags temprature moisture and battery level using a kumoapp that i wrote that sends the sensor data to emoncms and mqtt for home assistant. Kumoapps are little javascript apps that run on a cloud server of the wireless sensor tags (http://www.wirelesstag.net/)

http://emoncms.org/Edegem/screedtemp

Here you can see me monitoring the central heating flow and return of the gas combo boiler (a similar one to the UK version, Vaillant ecoTEC plus 835)

I'm also monitoring temperature (with DS18B20 sensors) in my screed floor (underfloor heating).
