I need to monitor voltage, current and power factor

Hi,

I am considering buying an emonTx V3 but i first would like to be sure that it is possible to record voltage, current and power factor ?  I need these raw data rather than power consumption/production for my project.

If you have a single phase supply and use an ac adapter as a voltage monitor, then you can indeed have rms current and voltage, real and apparent power and from those latter two, power factor (but you won't know whether it is leading or lagging).

If you are on a 3-phase supply, then as the emonTx has only one voltage input, you can have those for one phase, rms current for the second and third phases, but only a good estimate of the p.f. for the second and third phases. (This is because a delayed voltage sample is used for the second and third phases and p.f. in particular will be affected by changes in supply frequency.)
