Do I need to go and get all the bits at Maplin or somewhere?
I've looked around the site, googled for it - hope I'm not missing something obvious.

The emonTx V2 has been superseded by the V3. I'm open to correction by G&T, but I think the full kit hasn't been available for a long time. You could try http://spiratronics.com/ for some of the components. The 3.5 mm jack sockets are a bit special, but I'm sure the supplier and part no has been posted in the forums somewhere. And I've a feeling that the complete parts list has also appeared.
