I've just come across https://resin.io/, this looks like to could be a tidy way to update Raspberry Pi's e.g update emonHub etc all form a git push at our end. What do you think? Any thoughts or experiences?

Re: Remotely Update Raspberry Pi's
Looks very interesting, I haven't read very much or fully digested how it works but had to pick myself up off the floor when I read the pricing https://resin.io/pricing/.
Notice the "Get in touch for applications larger than our Enterprise tier" which is $5000 per month !!!!!
Surely that's not right?
Paul
Re: Remotely Update Raspberry Pi's
It's the Enterprise Tier that pays for all the Starters.
If you've got a few thousand devices in the field, less than $60 per device per year is probably a lot cheaper than sending a service guy out to install updates.
Re: Remotely Update Raspberry Pi's
....probably not a viable option for emoncms.

Re: Remotely Update Raspberry Pi's
Hey there, resin.io founder here, saw quite a few visits from this page, hope I'm not intruding.
At the "enterprise" level, we're looking at users that have 1000 - 10,000 devices. At the top of that pricepoint, we're looking at 50c/device/month, which is $6/device/yr
But Robert got it right. We don't think of this in per-device terms but in human cost terms. If you were going to hire even one developer to manage a system that's vaguely similar to resin.io for OEM, it'd still cost you more than $60k per year. Knowing what I know, it'll take a lot more than one developer to get a system like that right.
However, this being an open source community, the pricing is not set in stone. I'd love to speak more with people from this community at my username at resin dot io and/or set up a time to chat on Skype to figure out something that works for you.
cheers,
Alexandros
