Recommend OS for Raspberry Pi Model B ( 3 phases and temperature)

Hi Guys,

Could you please inform what would be the recommended version of software and operating system to be installed in a Raspberry Pi Model B ?

I have the RFM12Pi V1 and emonTXV2 modules. 

As requirements I need to measure 3 current phases and the room temperature. I would like also to connect to the Pi through VNC.

What are the lasted software options that I have ?

I installed Rapsian as the OS from http://www.raspberrypi.org/downloads/

latest vers: Release date: 2015-01-31

emonHub is used on the RaspberryPi to decode the data received by the RFM12Pi and post to emoncms.org https://github.com/emonhub/emonhub/
